Step-by-Step User Guide
Follow these steps to learn how to effectively utilize Privnote.chat for creating and sharing encrypted notes, ensuring your information remains secure.
1. Creating a New Note
Begin by visiting the Privnote.chat homepage. You will find two text input boxes, each designated for different types of messages:
- Top Input Box (Regular Message): Enter any text intended for public viewing or non-sensitive content here. This content will be directly visible in its original form, requiring no further action to read.
- Bottom Input Box (Hidden/Encrypted Message): Input your sensitive or confidential information in this box. This portion of the content will be securely encrypted and will not be visible initially.
2. Multi-Layer Encryption Technologies
Once you have entered your content, proceed with the encryption process:
- Click the “Encrypt Note” button.
- Privnote.chat will instantly apply dual encryption technologies to your hidden message:
- Zero-Width Character Encryption: Your secret message is subtly embedded within the regular text using zero-width characters, invisible to the naked eye. The encrypted text appears identical to normal text, making it ideal for scenarios requiring discreet communication.
- Binary Encoding: The hidden message is transformed into binary code (sequences of 0s and 1s). This encryption method is visually distinct, clearly indicating that the content is encrypted, which is suitable for situations where explicit security indication is needed.
- Both the Zero-Width Character encrypted text and the Binary Encoded text will be generated and displayed simultaneously, allowing you to select the format that best suits your communication needs.
3. Generating and Sharing Secure Links
After your note is encrypted, Privnote.chat will generate a unique, secure URL link for you:
- This link contains your encrypted message and can be securely shared with your intended recipients.
- Self-Destruct Mechanism: You can set an automatic expiration condition for the link, further enhancing security:
- Read-Once Destruction: The note link becomes invalid immediately after being read once by the recipient.
- Time-Based Destruction: You can choose for the link to expire automatically after 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, or 7 days.
Important Notice: The self-destruct mechanism applies only to the sharing link itself, not to the encrypted content. Even after the link expires, you can still save and reuse the encrypted text (Zero-Width Character or Binary).
4. Decoding and Retrieving Encrypted Content
Encrypted content can be decoded at any time, even if the original link has expired:
- Revisit Privnote.chat.
- Paste your previously saved encrypted text (either Zero-Width Character or Binary) into the decoder provided.
- Click the “Decode Message” button, and the hidden information will be instantly decrypted and displayed.
This ensures that your secret messages remain accessible to authorized personnel indefinitely, regardless of the link's validity.
